Liliput/Kleenex

Lilliput, previously called Kleenex! is awesome.

Punk/New Wave Swiss kids from the late seventies formed Kleenex in 1978 in Zurich - one guy and four girls playing a new kind of music. They toured Europe as Kleenex until Kimberly Clark (owner of the KLEENEX copyright) threatened to sue. They changed their name to LiliPUT, and started recording with Rough Trade. Their last record came out in 1983, followed by a Kleenex/Liliput Complete Recordings (1978-81) double CD in 1993 with reissue in 2001.

yar. Right now I’m listening to “Hitch Hike” on repeat. Love this band. Plus, they’re so obscure, just knowing who they are makes me feel better about my pathetic life.
