First off, I can’t believe that I’ve never used the Wikipedia before. It’s a shared free encyclopedia with almost 400,000 articles about everything from Fugazi and current events to history, information about the Spanish language and a good starter on cheese.
Secondly - I was inspired to dust my old Computer Science textbooks off and read up on sorting. Wikipedia’s sorting page is a good place to refer to if you’re brushing up on your computational complexity measurements. Do you remember “Big O”?
The impetus for this was an interest in which sorting algorithm are stable and which are unstable. A stable sorting algorithms maintain the relative order of records with equal keys.
