I just finished teaching a 5 week seminar course at UC Berkeley extension. The students had a wide variety of technical experience & came from a wide variety of backgrounds - from old Cobol programmers to Flash newbies to Information Architects to a fine artist interested in developing his own portfolio site.
I really enjoyed teaching the course — introducing people to new creative outlets, sharing a sliver of the potential of online media, learning about the special projects that each student was interested in creating.
I’m not sure how long I’m going to maintain the course website or if I will do a little re-organization of the material and turn it into a resource that I maintain. Among other things, I learned a bit about content management systems and CSS, as well as the wonders of wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
